The most hotly tipped toys for Christmas 2007 were revealed yesterday and it seems that TV shows and films have had a big influence on toys this year. Technology is also dominating children’s wish lists with toys becoming more interactive than ever before.
Hot toys for boys include the Flytech Dragonfly, interactive toy car Fast Talkin’ McQueen, inspired by the hit movie ‘Cars’ and the Dr. Who Cyberman voice changer mask. Movies such as Pirates of The Carribean and Star Wars have also been influential on boys toys this year.
Barbie is still a favorite among the girls and the top toys for girls include the Let’s Dance Barbie and the Disney Princess Chair. My Little Pony, Polly Pocket and Baby Annabell are also on the girls list.
Preschoolers still prefer toys such as Thomas The Tank and Bob The Builder.
The Toy Retailer’s Association (TRA) have made their predictions based on retailers’ opinions, items requested by shoppers and the latest trends in new products. 72 items were chosen in 6 categories:

- Girls
- Games
- Creative
- Hip N Kool
A top 12 was selected for each of the categories.
